What are the dates and the hours of the sale?

Backbone Valley Nursery’s 2026 Annual Tree Fest  begins on Wednesday, October 21 and runs through Wednesday October 28. Hours are Mon-Sat from 8 to 5 and Sunday from 12 to 5.

What is on sale?

All trees and shrubs in 15 gallon and larger will be 20% off during Tree Fest. We will have select trees marked at 50% off and we will also have lots of plants, including shrubs and perennials, marked down with significant savings throughout the nursery.

Yes, we offer delivery and installation!

We offer delivery up to 15 miles for $75, from 16-25 miles is $100 and over 25 miles is $4/loaded mile.

How do I know what type of tree to plant?

Do your homework before you decide which species of tree is best for your location. Choose a tree for the type of soil it will be planted in, and for the mature size that is desired.  We have a lot of information on our website and in our weekly newsletters for you to consult in order to make the best selection of tree for your landscape.
We encourage you to come visit us prior to Tree Fest so that we may help you learn which species of tree is appropriate for your landscape situation. We will not have as much time to spend with you once Tree Fest begins, and we’d love to help you with your decision! If you cannot make the trip early, you can read the blogs below to help you to determine which tree is right for you. 
We will be operating on a “first come, first serve” basis for Tree Fest. For faster service, it is best to sign in when you arrive. We will have a tent set up at the store entrance where you can sign in and get additional information about Tree Fest. Tree shopping must be accompanied by a sales person to ensure tree tagging is accurate. Only sales personnel will be permitted to tag trees.
We thank you for your patience when it is time to load your order. We want to do it right, and that may take a little time.
If you plan to transport your tree yourself, please bring a cloth tarp, not a plastic tarp, and we will help you cover your tree. 
If you leave your trees to pick up later, we ask that you do so by December 1st.

Additional Tree Fest Activities

Wednesday, October 21

The Highland Lakes chapter of NPSOT (Native Plant Society of  Texas) will have a booth set up to answer your questions on native plants and trees. Come visit with these knowledgeable people and learn more about NPSOT.

Friends of Balcones Canyonlands will have a booth set up to talk about their organization. Get to know your local preserve.

“Texas Garden Guy”  Destin Noak will be here giving out free samples of Nelson Plant Food’s “Genesis”, a revolutionary transplant formulation developed to reduce transplant stress on trees. Click HERE to read more about Genesis.

And finally, we will have a !!SNOW CONE!! truck on site in case you need something cool or a snack while you are shopping.

Our free refreshment station will be set up in the shade house with cold water bottles, coffee and sodas.

Saturday, October 24   11:00 am           Instructional Seminar

Greg Cooper of San Jacinto Environmental will give a talk on the benefits of using our FAVORITE MicroLife fertilizer.  Here is your chance to learn WHY the MicroLife fertilizers are so effective at feeding the plants AND the soil!
